BlogFest 2012 Day 2 - Insomnia

Posted by Claudia Moser on 1:43 PM in ,
Susan from Today's Working Woman proposed for today's BlogFest Theme the following hint:

'Over the years, I have gone through periods of insomnia, but I know that one person's reason for a sleepless night can be wildly different from the next person's. So when was the last you couldn't sleep? What was the reason for not sleeping? What did you do to overcome it? I hope you all have fun with this one and don't lose any sleep over it!'

It gave me some thinking material since I believe that I am one lucky woman, I seldom have sleepless nights, and when they occur it is mostly related to my health. If I have a heavy cold with extensive coughing then you can imagine that sleep does not come so easily.

Wish you all some great nights!

Loved the cartoon and yup the nasty colds keep me up too!

@Blogwati- the cartoon is funny!

I used to have insomnia all the time in summers after school. But now that I'm working most of the week, I'm way to tired to be bothered by it.

I wake up fairly often (now that I'm an "older" woman!) It kind of goes with the territory, as they say. Claudia, you must still be young! Hopefully, though, you'll never be bothered with it. But..as far as what I do or think about: Writing. I think about the memoir I'm working on. Sometimes I jot down some words or a sentence and maybe go back to sleep. Other times I am too wide awake and I must get up, have coffee and WRITE! This was a fun idea. Now I really must get off the internet and blogs..and get back to...writing! Have a wonderful day! :)

Enjoyed the cartoon. : )

I am a good sleeper, too, most of the time. Love the cartoon!

@Adam - that is true, being tired during the day kills insomnia!
@Becky - young is relative :) let me put it like that, I am not old :) and memoire sounds like fun!
@Susanne - me too!
@Jo - as I always say - we are soooo similar!

I have odd bouts of insomnia. I can go weeks with blissful sleep almost all night and then I'll hit a stretch of either constantly waking all night or not being able to sleep at all. That's what I'm going through now.
Loved the cartoon!

When I have a cold, nobody in the house can sleep...I sneeze loud and multiple times keep everyone up.Liked your short and sweet post and the cartoon.

The cartoon says it all!! LMAO. Great post :)

:-) I slept well last night :-)

@Laura - I wish you a good night sleep
@Sulekka - same with me, but we are allowed to be sick, right?
@Jenn - thanks, I found it fitting
@Journey of Life - good for you, me too!

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
