B - Be present. Be bold to be!

Posted by Claudia Moser on 7:18 AM in , , ,

Be present, there is no future in the past! Take the courage to exist in a particular moment, to fully enjoy the second.

“Be present in all things and thankful for all things.”
― Maya Angelou

“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”
– Buddha

“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment”
-Henry David Thoreau

“Either define the moment or the moment will define you.”
– Walt Whitman

“Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.”
– Omar Khayyám

And to end, I remember reading a wonderful poem by Omar Khayyam:

How long, how long, in infinite Pursuit
Of This and That endeavour and dispute?
Better be merry with the fruitful Grape
Than sadden after none, or bitter, Fruit.

Be bold!

Love the Thoreau and Whitman quotes. There is just something about those transcendentalists. :)

@Danneromero - good old quotes saving me :)
@Elizabeth - my favourite is the poem by Omar Khayyam!

Great quotes. I also like: "The past is history, the future is a mystery, today is a gift. That's why we call it the present."

I love these posts Claudia, they always make me smile.

I have to copy this one out and pin it up -- so many great sayings that for my own mental health I should read daily. A chronic worrier, I rarely seem able to live in the moment. Thanks for a great B. followed your link from the Writer's post.

I adore this line of thinking! Thank you for the inspiration today, Claudia! :)

That was a fun read through Claudia. Quotes are like little trinkets of psychological gemstones that we can use, and reuse at our will.

I enjoyed this... thank you.

I love the quotes, especially Whitman.

I love them all, my favorite would be Henry David Thoreau, really liked that one! Thank you for sharing!

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
