Woman's power

Posted by Claudia Moser on 10:58 AM in , , , , , ,
'I don't want men to go away. I don't want men to stop what they're doing.

What I want, instead, are some radical market forces. I want CHOICE. I want VARIETY. I want MORE. I want WOMEN.  I want women to have more of the world, not just because it would be fairer, but because it would be better. More exciting. Reordered. Reinvented.'

From How to be a woman by Caitlin Moran

And now do not panic! I am not an obsessed feminist, it is just the almost ending of  a great book which I am currently reading. And it is true, I do believe that women should be more involved in the society, they do make a difference in homes, and they should be in the business environment as much as men.

Power to the women? Why not?

P.S. I am writing this short note, while packing for my next business trip, I will be on 3 continents, 5 countries for the next 4 weeks, and I am not really sure how much time I will have to come to my blog, reply to your lovely comments and visit my favourites bloggers. Please excuse me, I will recover upon my return. Wish me luck and happy Sunday everyone!

P.P.S. This entry is done under the GBE2 Theme 'Pick a line from a book and write from there'

Have a wonderful trip, Claudia! I'm exhausted just thinking about that much traveling around!!

Good post Claudia. I do think women have been left out of the mix way too long.
Before I retired, many of the women around me worked harder, longer, and with less recognition. For years they worked for less pay.
I'm not sure what it will take to move the balance toward the middle though.

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
