Tapas and flamenco

Posted by Claudia Moser on 2:53 PM
My birthday party ... the first in Germany ...

I was kind of excited but my extensive travelling I didn't had the chance to have it exactly on my birthday so decided to organise it yesterday under the theme Spain. Don't ask me why, but I guess the reason behind it was linked with the Flamenco show which was organised yesterday as well in Bad Homburg.

My new friends in Germany came and the house was so full like never before and I really had a great time.

Some pictures below, but I'm afraid that they can only show you a small part of a wonderful evening. Thank you Amina, Andrea, Birgit, Dennis, Johanna, Marion, Michael, Moritz, Pascal, Peter (and Elena, Olaf and Beppi from the distance!)

We spend the afternoon eating yummy tapas, laughing, talking and enjoying our company. The evening ended with a wonderful flamenco show!

Purely Sting

Posted by Claudia Moser on 9:47 AM
I wish I was a better writer to describe how I felt and how I feel.

Yesterday 8.10 pm I had the pleasure to witness a live concert, Sting Symphonicity. By the end of the evening after two and a half hours of magic I was in paradise. This was one of my dreams and somehow the best gift I could ever get!

Pure music, a wonderful voice, a great orchestra, a good atmosphere and Peter next to me. It was a great evening and now, some good hours after the event I am still there within the sound, living the magic.

I will record the song list (I hope I am right) just to remember what I heard!

Lose My Faith, Englishman in New York, Every Litte Thing She Does Is Magic, Roxanne, Straight To My Heart, Russians, Fields of Gold (by this time already crying ), I Hung My Head, Shape of My Heart, Why Should I Cry For You, Whenever I Say Your Name, When We Dance, Message in A Bottle, Next to You

20 min intermission
A Thousand Years, Tomorrow We'll See, Moon Over Bourbon Street (the best orchestration in my humble opinion, worth finding it and enjoy it!), The End of The Game, My Ain True Love, All Would Envy, Mad About You, Ghost Story, King of Pain, Every Breath You Take

Encore
Desert Rose, She's Too Good For Me, Fragile and an amazing piece I Was Brought To My Senses (acapella)

Magic ....

And how I ended yesterday

Posted by Claudia Moser on 7:34 PM
Just before sleeping we watched the Echo Evening for classical music. Lang Lang was playing a Chopin piece, wonderfully! And then Peter says why doesn't exist a person who is called Kurz Kurz! LOL

For those not speaking German, Lang Lang means Long Long and Kurz Kurz would be Short Short.

Started the day laughing, ended it laughing and of course in the arms of my husband :)

My way to start the morning

Posted by Claudia Moser on 10:16 AM
Slowly waking up in the arms of my husband. And then Peter asks if I would like to hear a joke. Sure!

An ant family was very sad and was looking for revenge. An elephant destroyed most part of its village so they decided to strike back. 100.000 ants climbed on the elephant. He shoke and only 50.000 remained. One more shake and only 10.000 were left. After another shake just 100 were on its back. In the end only 1 remained and the other 99.999 started shouting: 'Charlie, choke him!'

I laughed and laughed. I am sure that despite the grey day I will have an amazing Sunday!

Thank you honey!

Today's snapshots

While sitting in the plane to Tallinn awaiting to take off, I read the following Mark Twain's quote: give each day the chance to best the best day of your life. Isn't that a wonderful line?

Then suddenly the pilot started to talk in telling us that in his 17 years of experience he never manage to have a day like today. Frankfurt Airport seemed to be quite disorganised, and we had to taxi around the whole area. He kept on informing us that we went to all lanes, we never got clearance to take off. Then I realised that we were running around for 30 minutes. I was so absorbed in my book that I didn't notice how the time was passing neither did I manage to get that we were late. He was ironic, but somehow the whole plane did not mind. Just another time ... Some flying home, some going on a holiday, some just like me knowing that you can't change the situation anyway.

And finally after 3 hours of driving in the darkness (by the way it is amazing how dark Estonia is at night, you are literally going into nowhere) we arrived at our hotel. Outside 2 degrees so I really was looking forward in getting a hot tea with honey and lemon. So here I am at the bar asking for my wish when a Russian bloke (couldn't find another word in describing his appearence) wanted to have his bill. The waitress prints him out his bill and then suddenly he went into flames. Very rude, impolite and even with my minor understanding of Russian I got the message: he did not agree with the sum and wanted to pay less. He started being very verbally abusive towards the woman, who flushed and was very embaressed. He eventually got his way, he ended paying 420 krones from an original bill of 560 krones. The woman was speechless and I guess she will have to pay from her own money the difference. She was silent while serving me and somehow I tried to tell her that I understand and that I am sorry. But sometimes the language barriers are there, I hope she knew that I thought he was an a - - - - - e!!!!

And then returning to my room I read another line - the best things in life are free. I wonder if he knew that ...

What a day! And now? Enjoying my tea and getting ready for a long day tomorrow ...

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
