Bookfair here we come!

Posted by Claudia Moser on 8:30 AM in

Each year in October (and sometimes on my birthday!!!), Frankfurt is the host of the biggest bookfair in the world, it is truly amazing! Since I love books I could not miss such an opportunity and on each Sunday (at the end of a long week of trading), they open the fair for the public and I am present for at least 6 hours.

My first time I bought so many books that I had issues moving :) Then as the years went by I realised that I need the help of my friends to cool my purchases down and to helo carrying. So this year 2 girlfriends are joining in and I wonder how many books I will manage to find!

Plus a bonus: the books are actually low priced, and I can find so many English books, can't wait! And not to forget this year's special country is Iceland and I heard they have prepared something special!

That sounds exciting to a book lover like me too, but I already have way too many books. You have no idea how many! LOL

I hope you and your friends have a wonderful time.

Sounds amazing. I still can't believe people are out there who don't like to read! That is unfathomable to me.

@Sarah - I had so much fun, it was wonderful!
@Sush - very hard to decide what to take with ypu.
@Eva - I always take advantage of the event!
@Carol - maybe next year you will be coming!
@Darlene - well you don't know how many I have either :) but there is always enough room for some extra!
@Barb - for me as well!

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
