Monday thoughts

Motto:

An average human 'looks without seeing, listens without hearing, touches without feeling, eats without tasting, moves without physical awareness, inhales without awareness of odour or fragrance, and talks without thinking.'
― Leonardo da Vinci

Day after day, you decide on how your life evolves, how minutes pass away. Positive thinking does influence your daily routine. Experiencing positive emotions or events leads to a tipping point beyond which you can effortlessly achieve what you could have only imagined.

At the same time if you get the support of others, the back up of fellows, you are receiving a tremendous lift, what Esa Saarinen calls Magical Uplift which expands your potential, releases creativity channels and increases your inner self perspective.

I may sound a bit unusual today, but I just realised that in the end you do take the decision of how you act, you own your path. 8 hours in Esa Saarinen's seminar (the so called punk doctor, a Finish philosopher) made me really think.

He describes his events like this:

'In order to change our lifes, we have to change our thinking. But we are not very experienced to work with our thinking, particularly when it comes to challenging the mental models within us that direct our attitudes, actions and responses. I try to create a situation where the participant could identify her mental models, core values and beliefs and have a chance to reflect upon these fundamentals.'

I feel full of ideas, of energy, of enthusiasm. For sure I will use this momentum to keep on asking questions, to be inquisitive, to value each moment, to remain positive. And I will keep this thinking process, somehow I know this is only the beginning! I do own this process!

And as an ending a very unsual example which Esa used to show how you are able to overcome your own condition if you are ready to assess the situation, make decisions and walk your talk!

Nice! I love the power of positive thinking! I agree that our actions follow our thinking!
Take care!

@Beachlover - thank you, I am a believer that you actually can influence how your day evolves, in some % of course!

How very fortunate you were to have been able to glean 8 hours worth of valuable thinking from this remarkable man. I look forward to any further gems you care to toss in our direction ;)

Yes, I like the idea of positive thinking
although
sometimes it is difficult to do so!

Happy Monday

I have been working on changing my negative thinking into more positive thinking and it has helped me tremendously. It does take work. Our thinking creates our feelings and I was sad all the time. I had to change that by thinking happy!

Claudia,

What an uplifting post, I enjoyed it very much.

I have learned that taking my life one moment at a time helps me to stay present, it helps me focus better on what is happening around me right then and there.

I also have been blessed with a glass half full outlook on life and during dark times I am able to see the rays of hope shining through - my guides if you will.

As of late I am taking to not holding back on telling my friends and family what I am truly feeling about them (which is how much I love them and how important they are to me) - life really is just too short to carry a load of negativity around, right?!

Cheers, Jenny

PEARSON REPORT

@Desiree - yes, it was an interesting day and for sure I will share some day some of the ideas it generated!
@Eva - thank you!
@Fiona - tell me about it, today is one of those days :(
@Karen - yes, we can control thoughts but there are days when the fact overwhelm us and then it becomes challenging!
@Belle - very true indeed!
@Jenny - nice to see your around my dear :) and so true, life is to short to be constantly irritated, I agree with you!

I have found as I age that my mind is much more flexible than when I was younger. I used to be one who thought I am what I am and that's it. Not true, not at all. I am what I think I am. And I think I am a pretty postitive and happy person and that is the choice I make each day.
Great post.

@Jo - thank you for sharing your thoughts!

I agree! We are what we think. Your post reminded me of this, which I love:

“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.

Watch your words, for they become actions.

Watch your actions, for they become habits.

Watch your habits, for they become character.

Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”

@Beth - wow, I love this saying! I shall remember this!

Life rolls a lot happier if you look at things positively and with optimism.

@Kathy - so true :)

THIS WAS AMAZING...never saw the fight before..never really was interested..and what your teacher said; WOW yup every obstacle in our lives needs to be addressed and strategics applied!! LOL know any witch doctors?

@Brenda - thank you, it was a great seminar in the end!

Many, many (like 40) years ago, I read a book called "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale. That book changed my entire outlook on life. I have been practicing positive thinking about 2/3's of my life so I can attest to the power of being a positive person. Not to say that I never get off my path...I wouldn't be human if I never made any mistakes.

This is a wonderful blog! Thanks!

@Darlene - I will search for this book, I am always looking for new ideas. Thank you for sharing this comment.

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
