Christmas Carols

Posted by Claudia Moser on 9:08 PM in , ,

Sometime ago, Sush from First do no Harm, asked me of some traditions from Romania, and this week's BFF theme, gave me this opportunity. My favourite Christmas songs are the traditional carols, and one famous singer is Stefan Hrusca. I shared 3 songs with you, I know you don't understand the words but I am sure you will understand the meaning, the music, the feeling. Enjoy, I know I did tonight!

Beautiful. Evokes visions of midnight mass in an ornate basilica. Thank you!

You're right Claudia, although I didn't understand the words, all the sentiment was there and I thought the songs were beautiful. Thank you for sharing .

Christmas in any language is just magical!

Very interesting music. The last one was my favorite, he sang with such feeling and the music was lovely.

@Gene - great description indeed!
@Diane - I am glad you found it, I love the music
@Emma - you are so right!
@Belle - the last one is one of the oldest Romanian carols!

Powerful music. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for sharing! The traditional Christmas songs is what I miss the most from home about this season and I absolutely understand how you feel :)

Nice.

Now it will let me talk! I love love the music in the last song and I have no clue what the song is about. Doesn't that say "Great music"?

Beautiful Songs!

Thanks for sharing

@Laura - always glad to!
@Bibi - thank you, but luckily in 4 days (if health allows) I will be on my way towards mom!
@Clifford :)
@Jo - the last song is actually about the nativity scene, loveley description of how Jesus was born, even if it is not a religious song.
@My not - thank you!

Not sure what they are saying, but somehow I think I know

@Baygirl - exactly what I thought! You described it perfectly!

Dearest Claudia...I'm listening with tears in my eyes to the last song. The othes were lovely as well, but this last song touches my heart and needs no translation.
Thank you so so so much for sharing.
Hope you are feeling better and on the mend!
Hugs~

@Sush - I am so happy you took time to listen to the songs, and I do appreciate your comment, you are very kind!

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
