“How I wish that somewhere there existed an island for those who are wise and of good will”
Albert Einstein

“No man or woman is an island. To exist just for yourself is meaningless. You can achieve the most satisfaction when you feel related to some greater purpose in life, something greater than yourself.”
Denis Waitley

“True friendship multiplies the good in life and divides its evils. Strive to have friends, for life without friends is like life on a desert island..to find one real friend in a lifetime is good fortune; to keep him is a blessing.”
Baltasar Gracian

“The optimist lives on the peninsula of infinite possibilities; the pessimist is stranded on the island of perpetual indecision.”
William Arthur Ward

“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this.”
Henry David Thoreau

“No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent.”
John Donne

Thank you for the reminder about needing others :-)

Do unto others has always been my mantra. Thanks for the reminders.

Great quotes for us today Claudia. I really enjoyed them. My favourite is the one that says "you must live in the present ....... there is no other life but this." Something we should all remember. Hugs.

Beautiful quotes. Especially the one by Henry David Thoreau. In fact, it fits exactly with a blog post I want to write soon. :-)

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
