Going home for Christmas

Posted by Claudia Moser on 3:15 PM
Tomorrow is planned for travelling back to Romania, to spend Christmas with my mom and my grandmother. For the last 6 days it kept on snowing, in such a manner that we have more than 40 cm of snow everywhere. The saying let it snow applies for sure to the region where we live at the moment.

Anyway, Peter (my husband) believes that we will be fine and that we will depart safely. Me on the other side I am a bit more pesimistic. Frankfurt airport has been closed and then opened a couple of times during the last days. At the moment it has 1/3 of the planes going, the rest cancelled. So I guess we have a 33% chance of leaving. And then we need to consider that we are going via Vienna so it can still end up in another location that expected.

But hey! In the end what can we do? We need to have a zen approach, we cannot change nature, but I would love to be home for Christmas. Tomorrow!

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
