Monday's special

Posted by Claudia Moser on 1:57 PM

Since my life has been lately enriched by new on-line friends I thought to dedicate the Monday's special to my friends and find some appropiate quotes to go along with the theme.

A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be. ~Douglas Pagels

A single rose can be my garden... a single friend, my world. ~Leo Buscaglia

If a friend is in trouble, don't annoy him by asking if there is anything you can do. Think up something appropriate and do it. ~Edgar Watson Howe

Some people go to priests; others to poetry; I to my friends. ~Virginia Woolf

The language of friendship is not words but meanings. ~Henry David Thoreau

The bird a nest, the spider a web, man friendship. ~William Blake

There is one friend in the life of each of us who seems not a separate person, however dear and beloved, but an expansion, an interpretation, of one's self, the very meaning of one's soul. ~Edith Wharton

Friendship is one mind in two bodies. ~Mencius

Betty - yes without friends life would be so dull right?

Love the quotations today Claudia. Friendships are so important in my life, and I believe that gets more so, the older you become. Have a lovely week.

@Karen - glad you do, let's see if next week's special will appeal as well :)

My life is richer too because of my on-line friends. Thank you for the lovely quotes!

Really great post. I'd be lost without my blog buddies. They've gotten me through some dark days of late.

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
