High & Low

Posted by Claudia Moser on 10:19 AM in
There are mornings when you simply wake up with a tune in your head, and today is no other day. Perfect 10 has a happy tune, the lyrics are quite funny ('Cause we love our love, in different sizes) and it always makes me smile.

Another Wednesday with a weekly special, namely High & Low. I know that maybe I will sound boring, but my day has only highs!

Mother and grandmother are with me, and even despite the grey weather outside and the chilly wind, we will spend some quality time together. We are still debating what to do, my grandmother is kind afraid of being caught in the rain but as my mother put it: if we are together, it's all it counts.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia

And în the end the tune of the day, Beuatiful South - Perfect 10:

So pleased you only have 'highs' today Claudia, and your mum is right, as long as you're all together, that's all that counts! (But it would be lovely to have a little sunshine as well, of course!!). That quote by Leo Buscaglia is so wonderful, and so true. Enjoy your time with your family my friend.

@Diane - thank you! I presume that you are also excited, the big event is approachíng! Fingers crossed!

You sound so happy that it makes me happy! :)
Enjoy your time with your mother and grandmother. The time goes by much too quickly.
I love the quote by Leo Buscaglia.

@Laura - yes, you are absolutely right: I am happy!

I remember last year when my cousin and his wife came out to visit. The weather was miserable and we were out driving around. I said the same thing your mom did. The weather didn't matter, we were all together enjoying one another and that was the most important thing.
I'm glad to see you are enjoying yourself so much.

@Belle - I am doing my best and somehow it comes naturally! I cook in a very creative manner and they enjoy it, and these simple actions make my day!

We all have to have lows in order to appreciate the highs. Let's hope the highs far outweight the lows for us all! Nice post Claudia.

@Barb - a very wise comment, but at the moment I am focusing on the highs!

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
