Under the impression of our trip yesterday, the word castle stayed with me, so here we go!

Idealism is like a castle in the air if it is not based on a solid foundation of social and political realism.
Claude McKay

The home to everyone is to him his castle and fortress, as well for his defence against injury and violence, as for his repose.
Edward Coke

There are no rules of architecture for a castle in the clouds.
Gilbert K. Chesterton

Yes, your home is your castle, but it is also your identity and your possibility to be open to others.
David Soul

Don't agree with this one, but still ...

Marriage is like a besieged castle; those who are on the outside wish to get in; and those who are on the inside wish to get out.
Arabian Proverb quotes

Good quotes. Loved the last one even though it certainly didn't pertain to my marriage. That was a good one. Unfortunately not everyone feels that way I guess.

'There are no rules of architecture for a castle in the clouds'.

Funny how every single child knows this, yet somewhere along the way, many of us forget.

Good castle quotes today Claudia but, like you, I'm not so sure about that last one! LOL!

@Barb - neither to mine, but thought it's provocative enough to get into my post :)
@Sarah - you are so right!
@Diane - LOL indeed

Thank you for your comments, I appreciate them all!

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
