Opportunity

Posted by Claudia Moser on 12:22 PM in ,
My mother has a belief: when you have the impression that something totally wrong or strange happened to you, there is a reason, a new opportunity may lurking just around the corner. This may have to do with her optimism, she does believe that there is something good and wonderful in every little thing, and maybe this approach did rub off on me, I do my best to stay positive!

Picture from here

Yesterday I was supposed to leave for Estonia, but when I woke up in the morning I realised that I cannot, my cold was still present, I was having fever and my ear infection did not heal yet. Thus, I hoped that my boss will agree with me and let me skip this one meeting. I was rather anxious when I approached him and surprise, surprise he told me that actually this is a great thing, since I must attend a kick off meeting for my first new project!!! Yeah! After one year of co-managing one big project and doing some small ones on my one, he did trust me to entrust me one bigger project. I was so extatic that I guess my cold was taken by surprise and I could actually focus during the meeting and had some good results at the end.

For sure in the evening I had to take it easy and today I am resting at home (OK, I admit I do some work but just a bit).

But somehow I am happy, you know an opportunity did come and I did take it!

Outstanding opportunity. Once again I say where you end up is often exactly where you should be.

@Pam - that is a good statement, you end up where you should! I will remember that!

This Mama thinks you maybe work a little too hard, but ya know, when I was younger I did as well. I love your attitude. It's a glass half full kinda girl!

@Jo - thank you so much for your kind words, and I know I work a lot but I do enjoy it!

My mother always said everything happens for a reason - although I'm still wondering about the 'reasons' for some of the things that have happened to me!
But good to know what this one worked out great for you!

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
