What else could fit this Monday's special than summer? Unfortunately Germany is currently experiencing November weather nevertheless the hope dies last right?

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken. ~James Dent

Summer set lip to earth's bosom bare,
And left the flushed print in a poppy there.
~Francis Thompson

To see the Summer Sky
Is Poetry, though never in a Book it lie -
True Poems flee.
~Emily Dickinson

In winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candle-light.
In summer quite the other way
I have to go to bed by day.
~Robert Louis Stevenson

I question not if thrushes sing,
If roses load the air;
Beyond my heart I need not reach
When all is summer there.
~John Vance Cheney

In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer. ~Albert Camus

A life without love is like a year without summer. ~Swedish Proverb

Summer afternoon - summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language. ~Henry James

Ah Summer. An idea that is so much better than reality.

(I think our weather is on a par with yours right now, Claudia!)

@Sarah - you are right, at the moment it is only an idea! So the grey weather reached UK as well? I am truly sorry!

Sorry to hear you're having less than perfect summer days at the moment. We are having less than perfect winter days here. We should be having rain, but our days remain dry! Someone needs to go and have a few words with the weatherman!

@Desiree - I agree, let's make a petition and explain that normal weather for its corresponding season should be adequate!

This is really a cool post. I love the quotes. Sorry it's like November where you are. I hope you're staying warm. =D

@Diana - yes, with lots of hot coffee :)

When we turn our clocks back an hour in November that is when I get to feeling down. Thankfully our winters in SC are short so it's tolerable but I just love the long days with bright natural light. Good post!

It's horrible. I miss summer too.

@Barb - yes, I know what you mean, but sadly Germany has also heavy winters!
@Trinista - sun pls come back :)

Ah Summer! Lovely quotes there my friend. I just wish you and I could have a bit more sunshine at the moment!

@Diane - as of tomorrow I'll be in Estonia, so I hope that at least there will be sunny :)

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
