Love the writings of 'Ms' Eliot! Good luck on the challenge! I'll be dropping in to see how you're coming!
Hugs~
Great quote. I'm glad we don't have to dress like she did...
Dearest Claudia,
Oh, beautiful looking writer of the Victorian era♡♡♡ So sorry not to have much knowledge about the people you introduce us. Fingers crossed, my friend!!!
Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
@Talya - some dresses were pretty
@Miyako - that is the purpose of my theme, to introduce some new / old authors
@Karen - me too!
Hello. I loved the book, Silas Marner. Thanks for the reminder. Have you ever seen the Steve Martin movie based on that book? It is called, "A Simple Twist of Fate". Great movie. Best regards to you. Ruby
"Adam Bede" and "The Mill on the Floss" are my favorites. Haven't read "Daniel Deronda" yet, though I mean to. I'm loving this theme, Claudia!
@Grammy - no I haven't I will check it out, thank you for the reccomendation!
@Elaine - happy you are enjoying my theme :)
We had to read 'Mill on the Floss' at school, and at that time (think I was about 12 or 13) I didn't particularly like it. Maybe I should try it again now!
We read Middlemarch at school! What a wonderful quote - that's new to me.

I love the way she took a guys name as a pen name... or maybe not because it speaks for the times.

Wow, you ended that short post with a punch! I adore that inspirational quote! Thanks, Claudia.
@Paula - maybe you should try!
@Miss B - so happy that you find new things in my posts!
@Jenny - thank you my dear
@Joyce - it does tell you a lot about that century
@Linda - thanks!
@Jenn - good!
It's sad that good women writers had to write under a mans name. So glad things have changed.
That's one of my all time favorite quotes, one that I live by. :) Great post!
