I love to create new quiches, new flavours, new colours. For this post I will share the classic recipe Quiche Lorraine, taken from here:

Ingredients
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
12 slices bacon
110 g shredded Swiss cheese
55 g minced onion
4 eggs, beaten
480 g light cream
5 g salt
1 g white sugar
0.2 g cayenne pepper

Directions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Place bacon in a large skillet, and fry over medium-high heat until crisp. Drain on paper towels, then chop coarsely. Sprinkle bacon, cheese and onion into pastry shell.

In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, salt, sugar and cayenne pepper. Pour mixture into pastry shell.

Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Reduce heat to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C), and bake an additional 30 minutes, or until a knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean. Allow quiche to sit 10 minutes before cutting into wedges.

Quiches are an amazing meal at any time, winter or summer, breakfast, lunch or dinner! Served with a nice salad of fresh greens they become a veritable feast :)


Oh Yum!! That sound delicious! David doesn't like quiche dishes, but I sure do!! :)


I agree with Desiree - you can eat Quiches cold in the summer with a nice salad, or hot in the Winter - I was trying to think what else you could have had for the letter Q, but I can't think of anything. Apart from Quidditch of course, from Harry Potter. LOL!
