Posted by Claudia Moser on 6:32 AM in ,

2 pears
1 cup of brown sugar
150 ml of red dry wine
lemon zest from 1 lemon
juice from one lemon
1 cinnamon stick

Preparation:

Peel, halve and core pears and set them aside.

Combine wine & sugar in a large saucepan over medium heat - stir for 5 minutes until sugar is fully dissolved. Add the cinnamon, the lemon zest and the lemon juice. Add the pears and simmer for 25 minutes.

Take them out and let them cool. Serve with vanilla sauce and some blackberries.

Enjoy!

That looks yummy, Claudia. So fresh and light.

This looks delicious my mouth is watering just looking at the photo.

Just my kind of dessert! Not too heavy. Looks delicious.

We planted blackberries last year. We hope to have a crop in the spring.
Our pear trees were loaded, but the weather was screwy this spring, we didn't get to eat the first pear :(

Sounds delicious!

Looks completely edible! Scrumptious.

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
