One great lady which enriches so many lives especially young ones, the creator of Pippi Longstocking, Astrid Lindgren.

Some facts:
- she is the 20th most translated authors
- her books sold more than 145 million copies (mine included)
- the Pippi Lonstocking character was inspired by her daughter

Just have a smile, the movies always manage that even if I am a grown up:

I've always liked here books :)

I loved Pippi Longstockings!

I love Astrid and her unique books! Nothing can beat them! I still read those books for my kids although the´re already so big. Maybe I read them also for myself, like stepping back to my childhood.

Childhood and Pippi Longstocking go hand in hand, right? Lucy from Lucy's Reality

Pippi Longstocking is such fun! I always admired her spunk and sense of fun. And who can resist that whacky red hair? Yay for Astrid Lindgren for creating such a lovable character.

I like that quote

What a lovely photo of the author. So much character in that face. I just had to pop over, as I love Pippi Longstocking and always enjoyed reading the stories to Eleanor. No doubt I will also be reading them to Ruby when she's a bit older!

Sweden is our Memphis in May honored country, so we should be seeing a lot of Pippi. Great choice!

Motto

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows. And you, the visitor, the reader, are altered as well by being in this enclosed space, whether it is ample and easy or full of crooked turns, or sparsely or opulently furnished. You can go back again and again, and the house, the story, always contains more than you saw the last time. It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you."
